Generally used for deep tillage of land, to help turn over the upper layer of the soil, bringing fresh nutrients to the surface, while buying weeds and remains of previous crop.The reversible mouldboard plough is capable of cutting a furrow slice, which is then lifted, turned, and sometimes shattered. The ploughshare penetrates and cuts the soil, and the mouldboard lifts it and turns the furrow slice to the right or left side of direction of travel.
